Motorola RAZR, an old-time favorite is expected to make a comeback this 2019.

Motorola RAZR, recognized as one of the most iconic mobile phone of all time could be on its way on making a comeback. The Wall Street Journal reported that RAZR could be resurrected and out in the market bearing a more futuristic feature to be on track with the wave of the foldable smartphone generation.

Although the company has yet to release further information about the device like specs, screen size, features and more, Motorola RAZR is expected to have something to boast in this era of mobile phone technology evolution, Motorola RAZR will be making a comeback as a $1,500 foldable smartphone. This is primarily because Lenovo, Motorola's parent company is showing seriousness in producing the updated foldable smartphone.

The Tech Crunch hinted that aiming for a fast track to stand out, Motorola is taking this step which eventually has become a trend in the mobile phone industry during the past years. Some familiar brands that got introduced on a new product include Palm, Blackberry and Nokia.

Motorola RAZR on its release will exclusively be sold through Verizon Wireless. Motorola and Verizon have a longstanding business relationship.

The foldable screen, Motorola RAZR is still in testing as of the moment. It will apparently be out in the market sometime in February.

Lenovo is targeting 200,000 units of Motorola RAZR to produce. The figures are quite far compared to the 130 million units sales that Motorola RAZR V3 made throughout the period that it was available in the market. It was easier for V3 to hit such kind of sales success considering its cheap price and the number of competitors in the market during its life span. For a $1,500 foldable smartphone, competing at a time when the mobile technology competition seems to be very close, the 200,000 pieces sales target can be considered optimism, according to The Verge.

Motorola RAZR seems to be a favorite when it comes to brand resurrection. Motorola teamed up with Verizon in the past for an almost similar goal. In 2011 and 2012 the two companies revived the RAZR producing a Droid RAZR series. The 2011 release was called the Droid RAZR sold at $299.99. In 2012 the Droid RAZR Maxx was released, which took the number 1 spot formerly held by Droid RAZR. Maxx also became the top smartphone available and was also considered the most expensive during that time sold at $649.99.
