iPhone SE lovers' hopes were rekindled of seeing their well-loved device once again in the market.
News about Apple once again making the iPhone SE available for selling spread this weekend. This was due to MacRumors noticing that the said device was once again listed on Apple's clearance section list.
According to the details posted on the Apple clearance list, iPhone SE was priced lower at $249. It was a knock-off price of $100 from an iPhone SE 32 GB original price of $349 and a price slash of $150 from an iPhone SE 128 GB price of $449. There were some color variations available such as Silver, Space Gray, Gold, and Rose Gold.
The sale was made available both for delivery and in-store pickup but only in U.S. However, the iPhone SE lovers' hope to see the device longer in the market was disappointed as a report went out that as per Sunday morning; all the iPhone SE stocks were sold out.
Rumors then began to spread that the sale was for Apple to clear out all of their iPhone SE stocks at hand. The pieces sold were all unlocked models from unopened packages. The specs were unchanged as compared to the SE's sold before their sales were halted four months ago. Each piece sold still featured the 12-megapixel rear camera, Touch ID, 4-inch Retina display and A9 chip.
Sources also say that the unannounced iPhone SE clearance sale was to somehow increase the Apple revenue. It was due to some speculations that the Cupertino tech giant will find more ways to boost sales after their revenue lowered by the end of 2018 allegedly due to fewer iPhone upgrades than anticipated.
It was in September last year that Apple released the iPhone XS and iPhone XR. Days later, the tech giant announced the official end to the selling of iPhone X, iPhone SE, and iPhone 6s models.
iPhone SE which was released in March 2016 has become the crowd favorite especially to those who are going for a handier and less screen size phones. It was also popular to iPhone 5 users as they had lots of similarities when it comes to design.
Last year, Apple followers were waiting for an announcement from Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple analyst for an iPhone SE 2 release. However, a research firm announced last July that the iPhone SE 2 project has been abandoned, according to The Apple Insider.
