This year Harley-Davidson introduced Live Wire, H-D's first electric model. Although Live Wire has not started rolling out in production yet, it's quite a luxurious price of $27,299 has been revealed to match its equally luxurious and classy look and performance.
Live Wire is expected to be on production sometime soon and will be available in the market on August 2019.
Aside from Live Wire, Harley-Davidson also gave CES 2019 participants and viewers a glimpse of their electric bike concepts. However, the event has just been very hectic that the Live Wire announcement was enough to focus on and the two other bike concepts were noticed yet did not gain much attention as Live Wire did on the said event.
This week Harley-Davidson finally found the best chance to make a grand introduction to their two new bike concepts. At the X Games in Austin, H-D was able to showcase the agility and other features of the bike concepts which is a fulfillment to their promise of all-new riding experience with iconic Harley-Davidson power.
Canada Moto Guide hinted that the two new Harley-Davidson bike concepts were not given names yet. Neither specification sheets for both were produced.
The Harley-Davidson new bike concepts were created with four main goals. The concepts aim to promote bike customization with easily accessible individualization and to enhance the battery design by making it removable and able to be recharged with any standard household power outlet.
The concepts were also created to improve the riding experience by reducing the overall model weight and increasing ease of use as well as to attract new riders by omitting the need of a motorcycle license and lowering the learning curve.
One of the two concepts is an electric mountain bike portraying a traditional Harley-Davidson body styling. The other one comes in a smaller size looking like an urban scooter that can easily fit around narrow places.
Both the two bike concepts feature a removable battery designed to be hand carried and charged using a compatible dock, according to CNET.
