Pokemon Go latest update introduce several new Pokemons that can be seen in the Sinnoh region. These Pokemons have been debuted in Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl.

Pokemon Go latest update will include evolutions, thus requiring players to use a special item to access. According to Polygon, the pokemons that have been cited in the latest update are Lickilicky and Tangrowth, which evolve from Lickitung and Tangela respectively. In order to evolve these Kanto-region pokemons into Sinnoh counterparts, you must have Sinnoh Stones.

In the official Facebook page of Pokemon Go, you can see the an artwork for the latest update. Apparently, the image shows Ambipom, Gallade, and Yanmega, which come from Aipom, Kirlia, and Yanma. You may assume that these are the added characters in the mobile game.

Some Pokemons don't require rare Sinnoh Stones in order to evolve. However, Pokemons like Cranidos and Shieldon, can be found in the wild as of today's version update. Pokemon Go developer Niantic hints that Pokemons will appear in Raid Battles are more powerful and sturdy-it means this is not an easy challenge for the players.

"Plus, some moves that certain Pokémon know may be stronger or weaker when used in battle," Niantic added.

The pokemons that you will encounter in the wild, according to Forbes, are

  • Combee, Vespiquen
  • Glameow, Purugly
  • Cranidos, Rampardos
  • Shieldon, Bastiodon

Meanwhile, the new evolutions are Gallade (must be a male Kirlia), Froslass (must be a female Snorunt), Lickilicky, Tangrowth, Ambipom, and Yanmega.

According to the source, there is an error message appears when you attempt to evolve. This can be a bug and hopefully, Niantic will fix it soon. There is a promo image of Mammoswine, however, this Pokemon is not yet available in the game because it's scheduled to arrive alongside Swinub Community Day in February in limited time.

Just recently, Pokemon Go introduced Palkia, a legendary Pokemon that replace Kyogre and Groudon. This has been announced by Niantic on Tuesday, Jan. 29 via Twitter.

The two legendary Pokemons: Kyogre and Groudon arrived in the game during Hoenn Celebration event (because originally, these Pokemons are from Hoenn Regions), which started from Jan. 15 to Jan. 29, at 1 p.m. PST.

The Legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon had been appearing in the Raid Battles. Apart from these legendary Pokemons, there are more Pokemons from Hoenn Region arrived in the Pokemon Go. Most of them appeared in the boss raid.
