This year's China International Import Expo (CIIE) is an opportunity for many French companies and politicians to explore possibilities in the Chinese market. L'Oreal is among the French providers looking forward to the upcoming expo.
In an interview with Xinhua, L'Oreal China CEO Stephane Rinderknech said, "The China International Import Expo is not only a window opened by China for the import of products from all over the world, but will also play an active role in promoting the globalization of trade."
Last year, L'Oreal joined the first Chinese import expo but in this year's conference, the Parisian company is looking forward to expanding its booth area with interesting and quality products.
During the second CIIE 2019 roadshow, L'Oreal was among the companies that shared expertise to help improve the Chinese market's systems. The Clichy-based personal care company said it will further share its specialization in yeast and fermentation to encourage Chinese businessmen to explore opportunities in the cosmetics sect.
Former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin said he is among the politicians who are excited about the second expo. "This is one of the most important trade activities in the world and will be an indispensable event in future world trade," he noted.
Raffarin's comments came after China and France celebrated 55 years of diplomatic relations. The countries leaders have exchanged greetings and expressed their desire to further strengthen diplomatic and trade ties.
It is expected that the China International Import Expo 2019 will be bigger this year. January 31st marked an end to the application process. A good number of exhibitors have already made it to the deadline while the country prepares for the event.
According to Cision PR Newswire, companies that joined last year's expo have demanded a bigger wide space. For the exhibitor's it is import to have larger spaces where they can display their products and services. It appears that the expo has heeded the call as preparations for the big day progresses.
It is worth noting that France had a huge delegation in last year's conference. Around 100 people and 69 French companies attended the event. French Minister of Agriculture Didier Guillaume led the group that resulted in a turnover of $1.55 billion.
Fermentis general manager Stephane Meulemans said they are positive about expanding the company's contributions to this year's CIIE. Fermentis is a sub-branch of Lesaffre Group, the world's largest yeast producer.
The China International Import Export 2019 will take place in November at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai.
