There's a new platform for news and Apple is expected to unveil it next month, according to several tech news outlets. The giant American multinational tech company will reveal its new subscription service for its users.

This service from Apple, which CNET described as "Netflix for news", is expected to be launched in an event on March 25 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park Campus. This service has been expected by followers after reports surfaced that Apple bought news subscription aggregator Texture last year.

However, this news subscription service already received backlash from some publishers. In an article published by Engadget, Apple might actually face opposition as the New York Times and Washington Post are objecting to some terms the company has laid out.

The New York Times and Washington Post are reportedly complaining about how Apple will take "about half" of the revenue from the service. This will divide the rest of the profit among published based on the number of hours users spend reading featured articles.

This is a higher cut compared to the 30 percent that Apple takes during the first year of a subscription. The company would also take 15 percent of the share later on.

Reports also suggested that Apple wants some news outlets to commit to them in supplying news for a year at least. This rule was polarizing to some publishers as some wants longer commitment while others don't want commitment at all.

So far, Apple did not set any price about this news subscription service. It is predicted to cost $10 per month, the same price as Apple Music subscription.

Apple has been venturing to some platforms as a source of profit since the iPhone sales plummeted over the years. Besides Apple Music, a monthly subscription service for accessing thousands of music on demand, Apple is rumored to eye a video service.

The rumored video service by Apple is expected to have all the TV and movie projects that can be accessed on demand just like Netflix and Hulu. It is expected to be released this spring.

It was reported that Apple tapped some huge Hollywood names for their video service. Some of them are Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, M. Night Shyamalan, and Steven Spielberg.

Meanwhile, Apple users who are waiting for new updates on AirPods and the new iPad Mini will have to wait furthermore. Reports said that the company will not give any details about the two highly anticipated products.
