The ABC network is definitely on to something realistically. The medical drama, The Good Doctor, has been making waves on air as lessons in gender equality and social issues in the hospital workplace are being presented.
The long break from early December 2018 to around the middle of February has viewers feeling a bit antsy about the job of Freddie Highmore, who plays Doctor Shaun Murphy, at St. Bonaventure. If people can recall in The Good Doctor Season 1, he has almost erred during a surgery.
What makes the scenario astounding is the fact that Murphy has been honest enough to admit his fatal mistake to hospital president Doctor Marcus Andrews who is portrayed by Hill Harper. With the incident on the line, Highmore has joined his cancer-stricken mentor Cliff Schiff's Doctor Aaron Glassman who is actually the cause of his lapse somewhat.
The Good Doctor Season 2 Episode 15 will resurrect Murphy's mistake in some sort of way. This time, the young physician will stake his career for righteousness once more. A mother of a newborn baby gets offended over his honesty.
It is essential to point out the brilliance of Doctor Murphy but pointing out his awkward social skills will be just as critical. Doctor Andrews has perfectly summed it when he said that the former is definitely better than what he expected but needs to develop his communication prowess. In a way, Murphy has to balance his technical skills with good conversational approach otherwise he'll get misinterpreted.
Among the subplots looming to be unraveled is the discreet relationship between Nicholas Gonzalez's Doctor Neil Melendez and Christina Chang's Audrey Lim. The bubble could burst with the arrival of new surgery Chief Doctor Jackson Han who will be played by Daniel Dae Kim.
During a previous episode, Lim has been quick to admit that she's actually distracted by what's going on between her and Melendez. Such distraction starts to affect her job. The situation will spell trouble for the two if Doctor Andrews will soon find out.
The arrival of Doctor Han will prod the residents to make some adjustments. The new physician has his own way of running things which will probably clash with the dynamics at the surgery department. Aside from possibly bursting the secret romance, Han's partiality to Doctor Murphy especially with the newborn baby will also be an issue to deal with.
Things will tend to tighten up as The Good Doctor Season 2 will only have four episodes left. Meanwhile, ABC entertainment has already renewed the show for Season 3.
