Coming this May, Princess Diaries star Anne Hathaway and Pitch Perfect's Fat Amy, Rebel Wilson pairs up for a hilarious remake of a-1988 slapstick Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, in a female-centered plot vice versa Michael Cain and Steve Martin's version. The Hustle will be among Anne Hathaway's recent projects including Serenity with Matthew McConaughey and Diane Lane and last year's Oceans 8 with Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett. Meanwhile, Rebel Wilson is one lucky girl on her February 2019 movie Isn't It Romantic as she plays opposite to Liam Hemsworth and Adam Levine.
The Hustle is a first for Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson to team up as female scam artists that are bound to fail or succeed as they fight (or cheat) in a quest to win over rich and ridiculous men. American actor Alexander Ian Sharp will add into the riot as Thomas, a billionaire they will meet in the loser-leaves-town contest that the two ladies are engaged into. Girl power and strategies are what it takes for Penny Rust and Josephine Chesterfield who are two ladies from two different worlds. From its first title "Nasty Women", adapted to a famous catcall by Trump to Hilary Clinton, the movie which is a co-production of Roger Birnbaum and Rebel Wilson on their studios Pin High Productions and Camp Sugar Productions, respectively while Jac Schaeffer serves as screenwriter, who is also writing Scarlett Johansson's standalone Black Widow movie for Marvel and Disney.
By January 2017, Anne Hathaway joined the cast to be alongside Rebel Wilson and with Chris Addison as the director on March, the title was changed to The Hustle. Actor/Comedian/ Director Chris Addison who has been into several shows, Mock The Week, In The Loop and many others have already been directing 13 episodes of Armando Iannucci's HBO sitcom Veep but The Hustle will be his featured film directorial debut. Other casts include Tim Blake Nelson (Dr. Samuel Sterns, The Incredible Hulk) Ingrid Olive (Petronella Osgood, BBC television series Doctor Who) and Emma Davies (Anna De Souza, ITV soap Emmerdale). The film is scheduled to be released on May 10, 2019, under Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Orion and its official trailer was released through Twitter on February 12, 2019.
Unofficially, The Hustle can be the third remake of the 1964 movie Bedtime Stories by no other than Marlon Brando and David Niven, however, despite having the same tales in a different title, Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson's tandem will have to make the difference. No doubt, these two actresses are already far more hilarious with their respective films and thus will give its viewers of The Hustle an amusing treat. Prepare for a handful of laughs, Anne Hathaway's British accents and outlandish outfits for The Hustle's release on May 10.
