Netflix officially renewed the sixth season of BoJack and the news was confirmed via the official Twitter account of the series. Back in October, it was revealed that BoJack Horseman season 6 would be back. And while the official release date was not yet revealed, fans speculated it would be out in fall.

As for the cast of the upcoming season, Netflix hasn't confirmed who will be the additional cast, but all regular characters will surely return. Of course, Will Arnett will return as the depressed horse in BoJack Horseman season 6. Other characters set to return include Alison Brie as Diane, Amy Sedaris as Princess Carolyn, as well as Paul F. Tomkins as Mr. Peanutbutter, the EconoTimes reported.

The plot of BoJack Horseman season 6 isn't certain as well, although fans predicted it would likely pick up from the time when BoJack was still lamenting. Thus, it might start with the protagonist struggling to cope with the sadness he's facing in his life. It was also noted his recovery from death would take some time to recover, so he's expected to be gloomy in season 6.

In the finale of the fifth season, it was shown that BoJack was strangling and almost killing his co-star and girlfriend Gina (Stephanie Beatriz). Following that incident, Diane sends BoJack to a treatment facility as his pain killer addiction is becoming worse. So, BoJack Horseman season 6 will explore the main character's recovery and how he deals with the consequences of his actions.

Show creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg also revealed via Metro that BoJack Horseman season 6 would focus on the protagonist starting to sober up and he'll probably inching towards redemption after he entered the rehab for his addiction. Also, the next season will also show Mr. Peanutbutter preparing for his fourth wedding, but it might cause a problem since he got recently divorced from Diane.

Meanwhile, show director Amy Winfrey is also excited to show what's in for BoJack Horseman season 6. She revealed the animated series has a lot of elements inspired in the real world. For instance, monks were previously shown in the series which were inspired by turtles Winfrey saw in Hanoi.
