Many had been waiting for electric cars to be released. Multiple manufacturers have already revealed their teasers and prototypes. Of which, is Tesla and now, Honda may have just unveiled its first fully electric car or its sub-brand, in the company's recent trademark filing.
Honda will unveil its new prototype electric car in just a few weeks. This unveiling can be witnessed at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The company is expected to let the people take a glimpse of their final production version of the compact Urban EV Concept. Recently, the Japanese auto manufacturer recently filed a trademark application. The company filed in Switzerland and the EU.
The trademark name was discovered to be "Honda e." It is then speculated to be the Honda's first mass-produced EV. Yet, the model that has been reviewed by the Urban EV Concept is the only fully electric that Honda has confirmed to in development. This is unless that company is going to have a surprise reveal at Geneva, according to CarBuzz.
Thus, the name "e" could a representative with the company's new EV sub-brand by Honda. The name could match a similar system that has been used by other companies. Brands such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes Benz represent the name with their electric vehicles. The company filed the name under the trademark classification reserve for an automobile. Specifically, "apparatus for locomotion by land, air or water; and parts and fittings for the aforesaid goods." Thus, people are waiting to find out Honda's next release and it will be seen this coming 2019 Geneva Motor Show, according to Hybrid Cars.
Before its debut in the upcoming 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Honda has revealed a couple of images of its unnamed EV. They refer to it as a "compact vehicle prototype." Thus, the design is inspired by the Urban EV Concept. It will have a similar round LED headlights, a rearview camera rather than its traditional side mirrors. However, not like the concept, the version is more practical as the new feature will have five doors instead of three.
Furthermore, a teaser of Honda's sub-brand also showcased an image that features that car's futuristic full-width dashboard. It gives a "clean design elements." Along with it is a multifunction two-spoke steering wheel, wood trim, and "intuitive user-focused technology."
