Justin Theroux once again filed paperwork against his downstairs neighbor Norman Resnicow for verbally abusing his wife. The feud between the two continues after Jennifer Aniston's former husband sued this guy for allegedly harassing him in 2017 over the renovations he was making in his house.
In the court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Justin Theroux claimed he heard Norman screaming at his wife, Barbara Resnicow, for about 10 minutes on February 10. At the time, he also heard him telling her to "shut up" repeatedly.
Justin Theroux also alleged that Barbara begged for his husband to stop on a number of occasions, which made him call the police. "It was clear that she was in distress and that this was not just a civil disagreement," the 47-year-old actor said in his paperwork. "But rather a verbal assault (at least) by Mr. Resnicow against his wife."
Justin Theroux revealed it was not the first time that Norman screamed at his wife. His actions also violated a "previous temporary restraining order" that forbade him to use any "abusive language or posture in communications, orally or by written or any other means, with any resident" of his building. The building's board filed the said order against him.
Aside from the screaming incidents, Justin Theroux also claimed the building's managing agent, Petra Scoot, saw Barbara with a black eye on February 13. However, The Leftover actor couldn't specifically point out when the wife acquired the injury.
Norman, an attorney, responded to Justin Theroux's charges. He accused the actor and Scott of having a "mob mentality," per Metro News. He and his wife also denied there had been an assault. Barbara even said she acquired her black eye when she accidentally fell when she got distracted by a kid while walking home from the gym.
Talking about the verbal abuse, Norman said he had been forced to raise his voice when talking to his wife for the past 48 years as she is having a hard time hearing. "I often have to raise my voice for her to hear me," he said. "Even without raising my voice, I tend to speak at a volume higher than typical." Barbara, on the other hand, assured that she never feared for her life with Norman, despite his abusive language.
Justin Theroux previously sued Norman in 2017 for harassment when the latter had renovations, which the attorney also countersued. The Maniac star also claimed that his neighbor violated his TRO in December 2018 by harassing his other neighbors and sending threatening emails.
