The sequel of Avatar is coming, and it has already started filming and casting. Anybody who has watched the first Avatar movie would be just as excited and has anticipated what Avatar 2 will teach again to its viewers, not to mention their hairstyle, how to do their ponytails and their language as well. No wonder for those who have already read the Avatar comic book, they were introduced to the meaning of every Avatar's lifestyle and even how they interact.

For Avatar 2, James Cameron has revived his promise of a sequel after its failure to commit to its release in 2014 and has even doubled his efforts as he simultaneously makes Avatar 3. The delay was due to Avatar 2's complicated scenes underwater as it needs new technology to film this never-before motion capture history. Further research and planning for these visual effects have led to a December 2020 release, 11 years after the first film was released and will be followed by its succeeding sequel between 2021 and 2025.

By now, the ponytail or what it was called the queue by the creatures of Avatar is a special kind of bond which is not entirely sexual but rather explained as a kind of awareness like for a newly borne child to his/her mother. Since James Cameron's main idea in all his Avatar series is all about family, it is but proper that this connection means a lot like a family tree (like in the Tree of Voices) that certain understanding, awareness, and acceptance must happen and therefore a child or a person must ask or seek pieces of advice of the elders. There has been a lot going on in Pandora as Avatar mixes science fiction, mysticism and metaphor, however, it is the lesson itself that makes it more meaningful and how it can be closely related to the realities of the world.

Giving a hint to his plot for Avatar 2, James Cameron goes forward to the story after the time when Jake and Neytiri with their 8-year old daughter were still together. The story will be told from the perspective of a child as she witnesses and overhears the arguments of her parents. Cast members like Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald will all have to reprise their roles from the original film, while Sigourney Weaver will be doing a different role. Titanic star Kate Winslet will reunite with James Cameron for her role as Ronal, a free-diving member of the Pandoran race.
