Fox has yet to announce the coming of The Passage Season 2, although the current season only has three episodes to offer. As the series based on Justin Cronin is a trilogy novel with the same title, it is not impossible a new installment will come to tell more of Brad Wolgast (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Amy Bellafonte's (Saniyya Sidney) story.

Fans are hopeful that there will be The Passage Season 2 as it is now shaping to be an interesting story. Fox's decision might not get affected of Episode 4 and 5's low ratings of 0.9 and continue the tale of Anna and the vampires.

According to CarterMatt, the generated 0.9 rating might not be enough to extend The Passage Season 2 to have 10 to 13 episodes, but it could still make a comeback. The network would also observe how the current season's Episode 7 and 8 work as it comes to an end.

Given the low ratings, this kind of show is not the usual type that gathers a lot of viewers during this season. But, the hopes are still high that more people will discover the series through streaming service or on its DVR service over the summer.

Brad and Anna still have a lot of stories to cover with the remaining two novels, The Twelve and The City of Mirrors. Hence, there is a big chance that fans will see The Passage Season 2. Despite the ratings, Digital Spy reported it received a positive reception from both the viewers and critics after its first release.

The Passage Season 2 may make a major 100-year time jump, the time when the "virals" start to rule the post-apocalyptic world. It only means that fans are about to see new faces. However, it remains uncertain if Sidney will still play Anna's role at this time.

Gosselaar, on the other hand, confirmed he would surely return if there would be The Passage Season 2. "My character passes away pretty quickly in the first book. That's not going to happen with my character [in the series]," he said. "I'm not just there for the first season. I'm signed on for the next six years."

Aside from Gosselaar, the future of other casts, like Caroline Chikezie as Dr Major Nichole Sykes, Henry Ian Cusick as Dr Jonas Lear, Vincent Piazza as ex-navy operative Clark Richards, and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Dr Lila Kyle still remains up in the air. But, fans will see the virals Jamie McShane as Dr Tim Fanning and Brianne Howey as Shauna Babcock in The Passage Season 2.

Fox has yet to announce if there will be The Passage Season 2, so fans still have to wait for the network's official announcement. But if the show hits the small screen, it can be out at the end of the year or early 2020.
