Cobra Kai season 2 quickly became a done deal following the success of the first season. Cobra Kai season 1 has 10 episodes, so the second season is expected to have the same number as well. The show, which is a sequel to the classic 1980s The Karate Kid films, is scheduled to air on YouTube Premium this 2019. Reports also revealed some new rivalries and additional cast members.

The first season of series arrived on May 2, 2018, so fans speculated Cobra Kai season 2 will come out around the same time - possibly this coming May 2019. Also, Otakukart reported the production of the second season began in fall of 2018, so it's very likely the show might air on the said date.

In season 1, fans have seen Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) made Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) the inaugural student in his dojo. In Cobra Kai season 2, viewers can expect to see Daniel trying to keep his promise to reopen Miyagi-do as a full dojo, as a karate school. Series' Executive producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg also revealed further details about what to expect on the upcoming season.

When asked what about the dojo vs. dojo rivalry in Cobra Kai season 2, Heald said fans could expect to see growing pains, as well as more rivalries. As for Daniel and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) becoming friends, Schlossberg said the two are like the yin and the yang - they seemed perfect together but also odd with each other.

Meanwhile, new photos showed Sam LaRusso (Mary Mouser) all suited up in her gi. It can be noted that in the previous season, she hadn't done karate with her father since she was a kid. Hurwitz revealed viewers would see a lot of karate from Samantha this season 2, and she will have her rival as well. As for who her rival is, some reports said it would be Peyton List; she'll reportedly make her debut on the series as Tory.

As for Sensei Kreese (Martin Kove), Hurwitz said he would have an "enormous" role in Cobra Kai season 2. He said Kove's performance is fantastic this year and fans can see more sides of Kreese this coming season. Hurwitz added this is one of the revelations in the second season that people were going to talk about, likely teasing he has indeed a huge role in season 2. Schlossberg also said the big difference between season 1 and 2 is the presence of Sensei Kreese, so everything he brought in the original Karate Kid will also be seen in Cobra Kai.
