The action continues in the upcoming The Enemy Within episode 3 as former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) analyst Erica Shepherd (Jennifer Carpenter) devises a plan to catch the ambassador of the United States in a way no one can imagine.

Before that, here is a quick recap of what happened in the last episode of "The Enemy Within." The second episode, titled "Black Bear," opened up with a mysterious man aboard a train - confronting and demanding another passenger to give him the laptop as well as the password.

After the passenger gave him the laptop and password, the mysterious man killed him off. The incident grabbed the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after thorough investigations revealed that the victim was a former CIA operative working under Erica Shepherd.

Due to this, FBI special agent Will Keaton (Morris Chestnut) enlisted the help of Erica Shepherd to help recover valuable intel that could take down a Russian master criminal, Mikhail Vassily Tal, once and for all. In exchange for her help, she demanded the former to get FBI protection for her daughter, Hannah Shepherd (Sophia Gennusa).

Now, Erica Shepherd's one-of-a-kind skills will be put into use in the much-awaited The Enemy Within episode 3. This comes after Will Keaton and his team find out that the U.S. ambassador is selling valuable information to a Colombian cartel.

To get the information they need, Erica Shepherd will be interrogating the ambassador's wife. However, it looks like the former have a hidden agenda after the 30-second promotional video for The Enemy Within ended with her cutting the interrogation room's video feed - much to everyone's surprise. She then said to the ambassador's wife: "I can protect you if you help me."

"Erica Shepherd (Jennifer Carpenter) devises a plan to catch him that will push Keaton's (Morris Chestnut) moral code to the brink," the official synopsis for The Enemy Within episode 3 reads, as cited by Carter Matt. "Keaton brings a new member (Cassandra Freeman) on to the team," it added.

Aside from the new member, The Enemy Within episode 3 will also see actors Raza Jaffrey as Daniel Zain, Noah Mills as Jason Bragg, Kelli Garner as Kate Ryan, Robert Gossett as Thomas Heffron, Pawel Szajada as Victor Nemec, Florencia Lozano as Elizabeth Cordova, Coral Pena as Anna Cruz, and John Finn as Richard Bregman.

"The Enemy Within" airs every Monday at 10/9c on NBC.
