With only six weeks left before the hit TV series, Game of Thrones returns for its eighth installment, HBO has finally released the official trailer of the final season. And if you've watched it, you'll notice that it mostly focused on the battle of Winterfell.
There is no denying to that fact that avid fans and followers are now even more hyped to watch Game of Thrones Season 8 after seeing the trailer. And although it is still set to premiere on April 14, there are already a lot of theories and speculations at hand even just after a few hours of the promo's release.
In reference to the previous season of Game of Thrones, it is already known that Jon Snow and Daenerys are now set to go back to Winterfell. And with the recent trailers that have been released, it seemingly appeared that they've already reached Winterfell in the first few episodes as Arya and Sansa are now seeing the dragons for the first time.
There were also clips of the Lannisters and how they are planning for the upcoming battle between the living and dead. And as what Jaime stated, he promised to fight for the living which can be equated to him joining Jon's forces to fight the White Walkers.
Cersei, on the other hand, is seen to be very upset while drinking wine. As anyone would recall it, Cersei refused to share a drink with his brother, Tyrion, that resulted in the revelation of her pregnancy. Hence, this could mean that she lost her baby in the upcoming season which is why she's upset as she sips her wine.
As the trailer reached the scenes of the upcoming battle in Winterfell, it seems that all characters are in great loss of hope. And there's no denying that the main characters might lose in the end.
All in all, the new Game of Thrones trailer is packed with several hints and sneak peeks that are quite horrifying. But while the upcoming on-screen battle is pretty horrifying to watch, Entertainment Weekly had a quick look on the real misery and brutality of the off-screen battle in Winterfell. And according to the outlet, this battle is expected to be the longest sequence in the history of the show. Plus, it will also bring the largest number of GoT characters together for the first time.
Hence, this has yet the most difficult sequence that the production has ever made. Cartermatt even revealed that the show had very strict security during the taping and shooting. Even the characters are not given scripts. Instead, their lines are fed through earpieces during the actual shoots. Ultimately, actors are all agreeing to one thing - the battle of Winterfell is the hardest and most brutal sequence that they've ever done in their lives.
Nevertheless, they are ensuring everyone that it's all going to be worth it. And not only for the cast and production but also to all the viewers and fans of the Games of Thrones.
