Little details about Titans Season 2 are now emerging since executive producer Geoff Johns confirmed its renewal at the recent New York Comic Con. Aside from its official plot, which they already have in mind, a new set of character is about to come to join the current fan-favorite heroes.
Season 1 introduced Robin, Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy, Hawk, Dove, Doom Patrol, Jason Todd, and Donna Troy to fans. In Titans Season 2, Conner Kent, aka Superboy, is on his way to the series that will mark the beginning of forming a larger team, per Den of Geek.
Warner Bros. and DC Universe confirmed Joshua Orpin's coming to Titans Season 2 to play Conner Kent's role, the teenager of steel who is looking for his purpose and the truth about his past. While searching for answers, he will end up in the world of the Titans where he will find a new home, his surrogate family, and revelations about his true self.
Aside from Conner Kent, Rochester/Finger Lakes Film Commission confirmed it was casting for another a new Titans Season 2 character, Jericho, the son of Deathstroke. He would play a major role in the series' second season just like in the comics. In a Facebook post, the production was looking for 21-24-year-old Mixed Latino or Mixed Asian deaf actors or "hard of hearing," and fluent in ASL.
In the character description for Titans Season 2, he was a kind-hearted soul who never reached his father's expectations. He was bullied, so he "retreated further inward." He was a misfit who longed for acceptance and love but only found suffering and betrayal. So when he grew up, he started to be a man who wanted to inflict pain on all those people who made him suffer.
Talking about Titans Season 2, showrunner Greg Walker revealed they were sourcing "some stuff" from the previous season's Episode 12 for the new season's premiere. "We thought it was such a good cliffhanger at the end of 11, and we wanted to go for an even bigger, better Season 2 opener," he said, via Comic Book.
Walker also unveiled they would be introducing a new villain in the premiere of Titans Season 2. As Trigon has a "huge role" in the canon, they taught they needed to give him a "really big episode" in the new season's launch.
However, it might take a little while before fans see Titans Season 2 as its production experienced a "setback." The series' filming has been delayed for a couple of weeks, thus it was pushed back from its original start date of March 20. DC Universe has yet to reveal its official release date, but its production is set to begin on April 2.
