Samsung steps into another breakthrough in technology as they introduce the first ever completely wireless television.

Samsung once again proves that they deserve their spot in the electronics industry setting up another trend in its customers' viewing experience. The consumer electronics giant recently unveiled that a completely wireless television is possible.

Samsung Electronics reportedly filed a patent with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) for a display apparatus and a power transceiver that will turn the completely wireless television into reality. The patent filed March last year and was published on February 28 this year contains a schematic diagram as well as the process on how the Samsung wireless TV will work.

The Samsung wireless TV will be powered by a wireless power transceiver. The transceiver in a bar form will be horizontally mounted behind the television technically between the TV and the wall. It is magnetic thus making it able to generate power by receiving magnetic forces from a separate wireless power transmitter.

To emit power to Samsung's completely wireless television, the wireless power transmitter is incorporated into a separate box where the wireless power transceiver is connected to. The wireless TV will then draw current from the electromagnetic bar which serves as the television's base station.

A wireless TV is actually not far from reality as sending electricity wirelessly was made possible in the past although for a limited distance. However, for a wireless television to happen, a wide coil is needed which seems impossible now that the thin housing design of today's television does not have enough space to house the coil.

Samsung provided a solution for the coil space problem. They are designing the wireless coil transceiver to be conducive for solenoid coil by placing a groove in the middle. The transceiver will also be provided with an oppositely wounded double coil for better power emission thus making the completely wireless television function normally.

This is not the first time that Samsung sets the fad making them one of the most prolific TV manufacturers across the globe. Recently they created the first Frame TV which can be hung as a piece of art on the wall whenever not in use. They also introduced the one-cable TV wherein one transparent cable is used for connecting the peripherals as well as the power supply.

There is still no confirmation if Samsung's completely wireless television will be out soon or will actually roll out production. The only assurance as of the moment is that Samsung has the patent and that means sooner or later innovations such as these will be part of the users' viewing experience.
