The 2019 NBA Mock Draft fever gets more intense as the big day rapidly approaches and NBA fans eyes are now set on who will make it to the top together with Williamson who managed to secure the number one spot.
With only two weeks left before the mock draft, Zion Williamson's performance seemed strong enough to secure him his spot on the 2019 NBA Mock Draft and Phoenix Suns awaited player. The eighteen-year-old player took the world by surprise when he busted out his shoes on one of his games on February 20 earning him a knee sprain and making him miss the last four games of Duke.
The knee injury, however, did not rob Williamson the number one spot on the 2019 NBA Mock Draft being labeled as one of the strongest players. His unusual speed for a 285 pounder makes him a head turner aside from the impressive game he showcased on the first 21 games of his college career. He is believed to be the best pick for any of the positions.
Another eighteen-year old player from Duke claimed the second spot. R.J. Barrett had a chance to prove what he's got after Williamson's injury. He averaged 25.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists on Duke's last four games. Although he struggles with efficiency at times, Barrett is Knicks' second option should they fail to acquire Zion for the team.
A Murray State star frequently compared to Russell Westbrook in performance claims the third spot on the 2019 NBA Mock Draft. If the projection serves the Cavaliers right they would end up having Ja Morant, currently the country's number one in assist rate at 52 percent. Although he still needs to strengthen at 175 pounds and work on his three-point stroke at 34 percent, he has a tremendous passing vision.
Following the top three names is Chicago Bulls prospect, Jarrett Culver from G, Texas Tech at the fourth spot and Cameron Reddish, G, Duke for Atlanta Hawks. Both for Memphis Grizzlies are Jarrett Culver, Texas Tech at number five and Romeo Langford, G, Indiana on the sixth spot.
Currently holding the number seven spot is Darius Garland, PG, Vanderbilt for the Washington Wizards. De'Andre Hunter, F, Virginia for New Orlean Pelicans at number eight, Nassir Little, F, North Carolina for Miami Heat at ninth and Jaxson Hayes, C, Texas for Atlanta Hawks at tenth spot.
As of the moment, the 2019 NBA Mock Draft projection remains fluid with names subject to switch positions as the two weeks of waiting rolls out.
