The long wait is almost over! Viz Media has finally announced the premiere date of One Punch Man Season 2.
It has been a long wait for One Punch Man's fans with Season 1 airing back in 2015. Now, they can finally rejoice as Viz Media has dropped an official poster for the second season of the anime series and announced that it would debut on April 9 on the popular streaming service platform, Hulu.
One Punch Man Season 2 will kick off the "Human Monster Saga" of the series. Aside from stopping the violent creatures and villains across the globe, Saitama (voiced by Makoto Furukawa/Max Mittelman) will also face several powerful enemies.
"Now, the great seer Madame Shibabawa's prediction about the Earth being doomed seems to be coming true as the frequency of monster incidents escalates," the official synopsis for One Punch Man Season 2 reads, as quoted by Geek Tyrant. "Alongside Genos (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa/Zach Aguilar), his faithful disciple, Saitama begins his official hero duties as a member of the Hero Association, while Garou (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa, a man utterly fascinated by monsters, makes his appearance."
Garou, who first appeared as a disciple of S-Class hero Bang (voiced by Kazuhiro Yamaji/Will Barret), is known for his fascination of monsters and his hatred of heroes. He also possesses immense strength, speed, inhuman durability, and an advanced healing factor - being able to survive fights with fearsome monsters and powerful heroes despite being injured.
Aside from Garou, One Punch Man Season 2 will also introduce a new character - Suiryu (to be voiced by Masaya Matsukaze). Not much has been said about the character other than he is a skilled martial artist who possesses superhuman physical prowess.
The next season will also see the return of Speed-o'-Sound Sonic (Yuki Kaji), Silverfang (Kazuhiro Yamaji), Child Emperor (Minami Takayama), Terrible Tornado (Aoi Yuki), Handsome Kamen Amai Mask (Mamoru Miyano), Pig God (Daisuke Namikawa), Zombieman (Takahiro Sakurai), Metal Knight (Tessyo Genda), Atomic Samurai (Kenjiro Tsuda), King (Hiroki Yasumoto), Tank-top Master (Katsuyuki Konishi), Superalloy Blackluster (Satoshi Hino), Puri-puri Prisoner (Masaya Onosaka), Flashy Flash (Kohsuke Toriumi), Watchdog Man (Yuji Ueda), Hellish Blizzard (Saori Hayami), Drive Knight (Yoji Ueda), Metal Bat (Wataru Hatano) and Mumen Rider (Yuichi Nakamura).
One Punch Man Season 2 is directed by Chikara Sakurai based on a script penned by Tomohiro Suzuki for. Yoshikazu Iwanami will serve as sound director, while Chikashi Kubota is in-charge of the new character designs.
