After 16 long years of success, Ellen DeGeneres is now allegedly retiring from her award-winning talk show, The Ellen Show. And it is believed that she is currently looking for credible personalities to replace her. Some of the names that were mentioned include Neil Patrick Harris, Chrissy Teigen, and Ellie Kemper.
These personalities are seen to be the most appropriate persons to replace her "dancing shoes" since they are usually the ones who take her place when she's not around to host the show. The reports even added that Ellen DeGeneres wants the program to go on even after she retires. And this is probably the reason why she's already looking for great hosts to fill in for her.
Another point that has been explained in these claims is that Ellen's contract will end in 2020. Hence, there is a huge possibility that the host will no longer renew her contract with the network. The source of these reports further explained that this decision for Ellen is quite difficult to make. But, it must be done soon enough.
Apparently, these reports were published just a few days ago. And while some fans of the show are quite shocked with the claims, others, however, believed that this is just sensible as everyone heard Portia de Rossi's statements about the matter.
On the latter months of 2018, Ellen DeGeneres wife, Portia, shared in an interview that she wants Ellen to retire already. According to her, she would like it if Ellen tries "other creative avenues" instead of doing the talk show since she offers so much more potential. There were also rumors before this one that Ellen is forced to retire because Portia de Rossi already wanted for their family to grow.
But in reference to Gossip Cop's revelations about the matter, there is no truth behind the rumors about starting a family. As it happens, Ellen DeGeneres once shared publicly that she and Portia already decided not to have kids upon entering their relationship.
And although Portia's statements happened way back in December 2018, a source from the show exclusively told Gossip Cop that Ellen DeGeneres "will not retire" as she does not have any plans about it. In addition, the said publication is assured by the insider that Ellen will stay even after the contract ends in 2020.
So, all in all, these new rumors about Ellen's retirement from her show are all fake. And maybe the ones who really need to retire first are the so-called sources who spread such claims.
