K-pop or Korean pop has become one of today's trends. And there is no doubt to the apparent success of the said industry. Now, one of today's hottest K-pop group, Big Bang, is facing a lot of controversies these past few months. And this week, the leader of the group, G-Dragon, has become the face of the recent controversies and rumors.

With his recent enlistment to military training, it raised a lot of controversies and speculations. And one of which is his current military status according to Allkpop.

On March 2, an article was written about G-Dragon and his failure to rank up considering that his peers were granted promotions who enlisted the same time as the K-Pop artist. And with this update about his military status, fans of both G-Dragon and the group are speculating whether these claims are true or not.

Additionally, there were allegations as well that G-Dragon was not promoted due to the lack of fulfillment of his requirements. But the main thing that caught many fans off guard is the accusation of GD's avoidance to render service.

As it happens, the K-Pop star had an ankle surgery prior to the enlistment last February. And according to sources, this is the reason why he took a lot of vacation days during his service. However, many people take it as his way of avoiding his active duty.

Days after these allegations were disseminated, a new rumor has emerged that GD is already disqualified from the service. And this caused a lot of fans to turn cold to the leader of Big Bang.

But even so, an official statement was revealed to the media that the Global Review Committee already conducted an investigation about the matter. And in this review, the said committee of the Ground Operations Command will be the one to decide if the K-Pop star will be dismissed from his active duty.

The statement also mentioned that if G-Dragon will be discharged from active duty, then he will either work at the Civil Defense Commission or serve as a public service agent.

Later on, new reports announced that G-Dragon is found fit to serve his active duty. Hence, he will continue and retain his current status. Also, it has been revealed that his excessive vacation leaves have nothing to do with the unit's promotions and rank ups. Furthermore, the official also mentioned that he could not further go into the details of these leaves as this is already a personal matter to the Big Bang leader.
