Legion or also known as David Charles Haller is not yet done facing his struggles as the third installment of the show will come back soon. However, it has been announced last February 4 that season 3 will already wrap up the show. Hence, fans and viewers of the show are expected to unveil more revelations before season 3 concludes.
In an interview with the Legion's creator, Noah Hawley, he told TV Line that this was his plan all along. He also added that endings are some of the integral parts that give meaning to the story. Noah further explained that a complete storyline has a beginning, middle, and an end - "it's a three-act story," so, it is just fitting to end the story come the third season.
In terms of the cast, it has been announced that the Game of Throne's Viserys actor, Harry Lloyd, will play the role of Professor Charles Xavier. And as for Gabrielle's character (Legion's biological mother), the role is played by Mr. Robot's Joanna Wellick, Stephanie Corneliussen.
And with these additional characters at hand, it seemingly appears that the third season of Legion will, more or less, focus on David Haller's real identity. If fans would recall it, a quick glimpse of Professor X's wheelchair was given in the previous season. And if you've read the comics, you would know that David's biological father is the leader of X-men.
But to answer the questions of when and how - well, there's no confirmation yet. Even so, the (why's) could be related to David's unveiling of the truth behind his adoption and biological parents. Accordingly, season 3 might feature David Haller's prospective redemption through these new characters, according to Den of Geek.
Noah Hawley also mentioned that David would need to time travel. And as it happens, he met a mutant who has this kind of power. Remember, Switch? So, it is very likely for the fans to see more of Switch come the third season of Legion.
The same is true for Amahl Farouk or also known as the Shadow King as Navid Negahban spilled a few information about the character when the third and final season comes. In reference to his recent interview, he teased that the fans will discover more of Amahl Farouk's true identity and his journey. But as for the details of it, fans may just need to wait for the premiere.
Now, the debut of Legion season 3 is announced already. And it will air sometime around June of this year which is a much later period in comparison to the return date of season 2.
