Daryl has been well-loved by many fans and viewers of The Walking Dead. And there is no doubt as to why his character is still standing strong after nine seasons of the show. Although he has not become the "leader" of the group, will he now aspire to become one after the departure of the famous Rick Grimes?
As of the time being, he is perceived as one of the leading roles in the show. However, his character is not seen to grab the initiative of replacing Rick's role. But even so, many fans believed that the upcoming episode will possibly open the doors for Daryl.
Apparently, Daryl has been known to be one of those survivors who have no plans of leading a pack. And instead of having responsibilities towards others, he would rather focus on his survival. His social skills are not even that great either. Nevertheless, fans see this as a process of development to his character.
Now, the upcoming episode of The Walking Dead seemingly appears to focus on Daryl's storyline. In the synopsis of episode 14, it partially reveals that Daryl will be on a "daring" mission to save the people he cares about. Alpha, on the other hand, will pour everything in her power to get what she believes to be hers, even if it will cost blood. So, basically, this is the gist of the upcoming episode.
It also bears mentioning that Lydia seems to be having a change of heart toward her mother, Alpha. In the previous episodes of The Walking Dead, fans saw how her mother tested Lydia's loyalty by tasking her to kill a youngster. Luckily for Lydia, she was able to escape the task due to the attack that happened. Hence, there is a huge chance that fans would see more of Lydia's character development.
Chokepoint's trailer also showed the upcoming battle that the Kingdom will face on - who knows when - as well as the battle between Daryl and the Whisperers. But while many fans see this episode as a turning point for Daryl, there is no assurance yet if he along with the people that he cares about will survive the upcoming battle. So, that is also another aspect to think about before The Walking Dead season 9 returns.
Even so, fans would see another thrilling and action-filled episode come March 10 as the new episode airs on AMC. Viewers may also stream on several platforms like Hulu, Roku, and Sling once the Chokepoint episode premieres on the network.
