It's been a while since The Man From U.N.C.L.E. was released, some think the movie was indeed great but others weren't really impressed with the story. Now, there have been reports the sequel is on the works. So, what can fans expect on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. 2?

Directed by Guy Richie, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. stars Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, alongside Alicia Vikander, Hugh Grant, and Elizabeth Debicki. According to Otakukart, there were ongoing talks regarding film getting a sequel. While it's very possible, fans might need to wait for a bit to confirm if it will indeed happen. It was previously stated that the next installment is on the works and the script is being written - so that likely suggests we're getting a sequel.

Previously, Hammer also broke some exciting news for the devoted fans of the movie. In an interview, the actor revealed he called the producer of the film, Lionel Wigram, and he as well as Guy reportedly produced it and wrote it all together. He told the producer he's constantly getting questions about the sequel, so he asked him to just write it. Wigram, on the other hand, reportedly responded: "I'll write a sequel."

But still, it's a long road for a screenwriter saying he'll be writing a sequel, as well as the film getting a green light, being shot, and getting a release. Yet, Hammer is optimistic about it, and he believes The Man From U.N.C.L.E. might get a sequel at some point.

If ever confirmed, the question will be when are we going to see it? The film was released in 2015, and it's been about two years since the sequel was promised, yet there's no news about it since then. Some reports, however, claim that things are starting to move faster and sources revealed The Man From U.N.C.L.E. 2 might be coming "very soon." Other rumors also said the sequel might be out in 2020, but it should be noted these were just rumors until official announcements were made.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. follows the story of CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Cavill) and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Hammer), though there seemed to be some "bad blood" between them, they were forced to put aside their hostilities as they need to work together to stop the evildoers in their tracks. Their only lead is the daughter of a missing German scientist, whom they must find immediately to stop a global catastrophe.
