Knightfall season 2 is ready to air on the History Channel. Slated to premiere on Monday, March 25, at 10:00 p.m., the show has viewers excited because Star Wars actor Mark Hamill is going to be part of the new season.

Hamill will play Talus in Knightfall season 2, and he's tasked to train the recruits of the Order. According to Entertainment Weekly, the character is a "battle-hardened Knight Templar veteran of the Crusades, who survived captivity for ten years in the Holy Land."

In an interview with Den of Geek, Hamill said that it didn't occur to him how similar his new character on Knightfall season 2 is to his more famous role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga. However, fans have been making comparisons about how much they are alike since Skywalker did establish a Jedi Academy to train young children to be one with the Force.

But the actor still insisted the two characters, as well as their storylines, are nothing alike. Hamill said that Talus is a brutal teacher in Knightfall season 2 since the Knight Templars are supposed to be "executioners for Christ."

To prepare for the role, Hamill also took horseback-riding lessons since Knightfall takes place in the medieval period. He also read plenty of history materials, as recommended by his co-stars Tom Cullen (as Landry) and Simon Merrells (as Tancrede). The actor also described the show as a lot like Game of Thrones minus the dragons.

Meanwhile, Knightfall season 2 will delve on finding out who's in possession of the real Holy Grail. Templar Master Berenger (played by Peter O'Meara) had his doubts after looking into the remaining pieces of the smashed relic, where he found a scroll. Does one of the knights have the real Grail or is it with King Philip (played by Ed Stoppard)?

Most of the major players from last season will be back for the second run, except for Olivia Ross (as Queen Joan of France), who died at the hands of her husband, the King. Aside from Hamill, Tom Forbes and Genevieve Gaunt are also the new cast members who will play the older children of King Philip, Louis, and Isabella.

Knightfall, created by Don Handfield and Richard Rayner, will have a new showrunner in the second season. Aaron Helbing took over the responsibility after Dominic Minghella stepped down while filming last summer.
