Reports say Apple is planning to release a new 10.5-inch non-Pro iPad, as well as an iPad featuring a 10.2-inch display. Read on for details.
A leaker has revealed that Apple is planning to release two new iPad models at an undisclosed date, MacRumor reports. The leak, coming from a Twitter user who goes by the name CoinX, says the Cupertino-based tech giant is planning to release a non-Pro iPad with a 10.5-inch screen, and a 10.2-inch iPad believed to be the iPad 7.

If the leak is accurate, then Apple might be planning to release a scaled back version of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro released in 2017. This new model might feature the same housing as the current iPad Pro but with slightly weaker specs.
Doing this allows Apple to spend less on creating new hardware and designs, while producing more options for consumers.
This scaled back version, if true, might be sold for a more competitive price compared to its more powerful siblings. It might fetch a selling price between the lower-end iPad model (sold at around $329) and the latest iPad Pro models (which cost $799 and up).
The iPad 7, on the other hand, has already been the subject of a few rumors lately.
BGR reports that the iPad 7 was previously rumored to have the same housing as the iPad 6, which means it might feature a 9.7-inch display. The Japanese Apple blog Mac Otakara, on the other hand, cited sources saying the new iPad might feature a slightly larger 10-inch display.
If CoinX's leak is accurate, then Mac Otakara's sources are right in saying the new iPad 7 will have a larger display compared to the iPad 6. Aside from the display size, not much is known about the upcoming iPad except for what the iPad 6 already features: a headphone jack and Touch ID.
MacRumors says CoinX is a proven source for Apple device leaks, having accurately predicted the names of the 2018 iPhones before they were even made public. A Twitter user pointed out that all of CoinX's previous tweets (leaks) proved true, which means this new leak is most likely to be accurate as well.
CoinX says both iPad are coming, but didn't mention a release date. The leaker did say, however, that they won't be released at the same time.
As of now it's unclear if both devices will be announced during the March 25th event where Apple is expected to unveil a streaming and subscription service. Nevertheless, Apple could simply surprise fans will an unexpected announcement.
