Mark Harmon's remarkable contribution as Leroy Jethro Gibbs of the Washington-based Major Case Response Team of the show's NCIS was due to all his dedication to do his job and happy marriage and family.
For all the entire seasons, Harmon's character as the laconic investigator has already solved many cases, and his exemplary acting was known to its over 16-year audience who have been following the second-longest-running scripted, non-animated U.S. primetime TV series currently airing. At 67 years old, Mark Harmon will be taking a break from the show that he loves to unwind and be with the only woman he loves.
With Season 16 about to end in May 2019, NCIS is set to be renewed for its Season 17 however there is still no official statement from CBS or the management. While the talks are underway, Mark Harmon is going for a vacation with his wife, Pam Dawber, their destination, coming from a source, would be a trip through Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, and Germany.
This planned vacation will not stop him even if the show will be renewed or not since the said vacation will only be for a short time, thus if ever NCIS will be renewed, Harmon will still return as special agent Gibbs.
Pam Dawber is best known for her lead television sitcom roles as Mindy McConnell in Mork & Mindy (1978-1982) and Samantha Russell in My Sister Sam (1986-1988), and has later returned to acting with Robin Williams on his comedy series The Crazy Ones in 2014 as a love interest of Williams's character.
But, despite their careers as actors and actresses, Mark Harmon and Pam Dawber prefers to be private about their family life and rarely appear in public together with their children or speak about one another in interviews. Mark Harmon and actress Pam Dawber have been married since March 21, 1987, with sons Sean Thomas Harmon who is now at his 30's and once played young Gibbs in five NCIS episodes and Ty Christian Harmon, 26, who both prefer to keep themselves in low-profile despite having celebrity parents.
The European tour will be in celebration of their 32nd wedding anniversary as they revel at how strong their marriage has been despite experiencing all the struggles of married life. The said vacation will bring back the spark between him and Pam Dawber which has been his overall priority, his family, and entirely the key to the success of their marriage.
