Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton proved to be a very patient couple, with no hurries of getting married or even a hint that they are living together, at this point, the No Doubt lead vocalist is still living with her three sons who are all in their minor age yet. Looking back at Gwen Stefani's wedding to Gavin Rossdale, it was a solemn church wedding in St Paul's, Covent Garden, London in 2002 followed by a Los Angeles wedding two weeks later.

Now that they have been divorced for more or less three years now, some news concerning their church wedding that is now becoming a huge barrier for The Voice coaches to get married.

Coming from a news source, Gwen Stefani has been trying her best to process the church annulment of her wedding to Gavin Rossdale so that she can marry Blake Shelton to a Catholic church. The singer who was raised Roman Catholic in nearby Anaheim, California, wanted to marry again in church with the country singer/songwriter.

However, "a divorced Catholic is not allowed to remarry until their earlier marriage has been nullified. If a Catholic has remarried civilly but not had their earlier marriage annulled, they are not allowed to receive communion." Consequently, Gwen Stefani cannot marry Blake Shelton in a Catholic church unless she files for annulment of her church wedding, although a divorcee can be married again in a civil wedding process.

Even fans are already speculating on Blake Shelton as to what has been taking him so long to pop the question. And allegedly, the reason has already dropped in front of them, and that is Stefani's religion, which is most likely one of the cause, given that the Don't Speak hitmaker is truly a devotee at heart. Blake Shelton has been very supportive ever since to his fellow Voice coach, even to her religion which has been "extremely important" for her.

Gavin Rossdale does not share the same sentiment as he allegedly feels "unhappy with his ex-wife's plan" being the opposite of Gwen Stefani's "traditional religions" and he feels "worried that Gwen and Blake will push their beliefs" on his three young boys.

In addition to this news, Gwen Stefani reportedly has already filed the process of annulment, which is why there seems to be a delay in their engagement and wedding plans. However, this news has to be debunked since coming from Stefani's rep, all of these are not true, and it was put on record that the award-winning singer is not processing any annulment for her church wedding. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are just among those rare couples who are patiently waiting for the right time.
