YG Entertainment announced Friday morning the cancellation of BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love" comeback press conference scheduled for 11 a.m. April 5, much to the disappointment of the girl group's fans.

The reasons were selfless; however as, according to the statement, the cancellation was an effort to show their support for the victims of the Goseong-Sokcho forest fire in Gangwon Province. The South Korean entertainment company expressed their apologies to the fans of the singing group as well as the reporters who had been expecting the event to push through.

Despite the circumstances, the music video went on to break a YouTube record, which the same group had set previously, by hitting more than 30 million views less than 15 hours from its release midnight on April 5. Their previous record was for "DDU-DU DDU-DU" which had hit the mark in 23 hours after release. BLACKPINK continues to hold the record for the first K-Pop female group to reach 30 million views the fastest.

Overall in the K-Pop music scene, the all-male music group BTS previously held the record for being the fastest K-Pop group to garner 30 million views on YouTube for "Idol" which the song managed to do before the tenth hour from release. BLACKPINK was able to achieve this in less than half the time with "Kill This Love" after merely four hours and 13 minutes.

The latest news only a few hours in now has "Kill This Love" holding the present record for the fastest female K-Pop group getting over 40 million views in the total time of one day and three hours.

And if this is not enough, BLACKPINK now also holds the record as being the very first K-Pop girl group to have climbed to the top of the United States iTunes song chart with "Kill This Love," hitting number one around the world, covering 36 regions, including the countries Portugal, Turkey, Russia, Sweden, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and the Asian countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

The "Kill This Love" album has also gone on to make waves in Greece, Japan, Russia, New Zealand, and Finland, to name some, topping the iTunes Top Album charts over 31 regions.

This much-anticipated return to the music scene with a new mini-album "Kill This Love" is the group's first, following their June 2018 release. The winning MV reflects the combined efforts of no less than four top international choreographers, according to YG Entertainment.

Blackpink is said to be done and ready with their latest title track music video that is expected to launch their comeback into the Korean pop music scene very soon. The group, consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rose, is now gearing up for the much awaited upcoming event.

This was confirmed by Yang Min-seok, the Chief Executive Officer of one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, YG Entertainment. The CEO also indicated that this much-awaited occasion would happen as scheduled at the end of this month.

Some report the latest expected launch would be in early April. The specific date of the upcoming event, however, has not been revealed yet. But, it was said it would be announced officially by the top executive any time now.

Chances of this taking place as announced are assured, as some expert predictors following such happenings rationalize that any later and Blackpink would end up coming out at the same time as two other Korean pop groups BTS and Twice, something that is usually avoided.

It was also pointed out that if this does not happen soon, it will mess up the group's schedule for their continuing World Tour, which is expected to touch down in North America mid-April. What's more, the group is also billed to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival April 12 and 19, 2019.

This event is expected to feature a new extended play, possibly between three and six tracks, as well as the title track. What has got fans of the pop group excited is that they have been waiting for this comeback nine months since the last one.

A member of the South Korean girl group, Jisoo, took to Instagram Saturday to post a video of herself in what appears to be the YG dance studio. Interestingly, her hair has been dyed red. The Blackpink girl then quips, saying that the group was practicing. She also asked "everyone" to "wait" for them, referring to the anticipated launch.

This event has been much looked forward to by Blackpink fans who are debating whether the new track will be in English, considering that they are venturing into the North Americas pretty soon. The group's first schedule will be in Los Angeles, California, on April 17, at The Forum, which has a capacity of 17,000.

Meantime, followers of the group are blowing their minds thinking whether there would be something in the upcoming record like "Whistle," which was Blackpink's very first number one song in South Korea, or "Boombayah" which was their first Billboard hit.
