Amazon and Whole Foods Market cut prices on many items and the sale is set to begin on Wednesday. The prices will really be low and it was even described as something that will change the "Whole Paycheck" nickname that was given to the food market due to its high prices.

Based on the press release, the lower prices will apply to hundreds of favorite items. In particular, the produce will get the most discounts plus Prime members can enjoy more deals at Whole Foods Market. The exclusive shop members can also get an additional 10 percent off on hundreds of goods throughout the store.

Customers can save up to 20 percent once the reduced price tags take effect this Wednesday. Then, in the next few months, shoppers can expect over 300 Prime member deals on seasonal items that are both favorites and popular.

"Whole Foods Market continues to maintain the high-quality standards that we've championed for nearly 40 years and, with Amazon, we will lower more prices in the future, building on the positive momentum from previous price investments," Whole Foods Market CEO and co-founder, John Mackey, said via the release. "The standards for how our products are sourced, grown and produced are powerful and set Whole Foods Market apart from the competition."

He added, "We will continue to focus on both lowering prices and bringing customers the quality they trust and the innovative assortment they expect from our brand." 

According to CNBC, the last time that Whole Foods Market offered a major price slash was in November 2017 so these newest reduced prices are something to look forward to as this does not happen all the time. Moreover, the store is sync to Amazon Prime for better sales promotion and customer service.   

The news outlet specified that Whole Foods Market's Prime members would be offered exclusive deals such as additional loyalty discount. In addition, the members with an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa card are eligible to receive 5 percent cash back on their purchases at Whole Foods stores.

Meanwhile, Amazon purchased the Whole Foods Market chain in August 2017. Jeff Bezos' company acquired the store chain for US$13.7 billion. Since then, the WFM's vision has been changed to making the store's high-quality, natural and organic goods easily available and affordable for everyone.
