In the recently released episode of 9-1-1, viewers saw Chimney (Kenneth Choi) survived another near-death crisis while Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) fought hard for her own life. There are a lot of happenings in 9-1-1 season 2 episode 13, especially Maddie's abusive/psychopathic ex Doug (Brian Hallisay) is now dead. So, what exactly happened in this episode titled "Fight or Flight"?
There's no need to worry because Chimney is still alive, although he needs some time to fully recover since he got a punctured lung. Doug stabbed him which nearly killed him, but he managed to survive this horrible situation. He'll probably make it through since there are so many people supporting him, both physically and emotionally.
In another side of 9-1-1 season 2 episode 13, Maddie is fighting for her life while trying to escape from her abusive and manipulative ex. Throughout the episode, viewers witnessed the character doing her best to run away - even though she's struggling and have bruises on her face. She's also fighting back in every way that she can, and at the end of the episode, Maddie eventually gains control of the knife and goes to stab Doug.
Now that her ex is dead, Maddie can finally breathe easier and feel safer, and she can now move on with her life and start anew. Perhaps, the character can now continue her romance with Chimney since the end of shows the two reunited and they shared a kiss. They can probably start a relationship and date now since Doug is now dead.
Meanwhile, in an interview with TVLine, Hewitt talked about her experience in doing 9-1-1 season 2 episode 13 - especially since she worked alongside her real-life husband Hallisay in this particular episode. She said it was really intense doing the scene, though the trust factor was a game changer. She noted that the trust between her and her husband allowed Hallisay to be as bad as he could so he portrayed his character really well.
Hewitt also revealed the whole thing happened in this episode would affect Maddie in subtle ways. She will try to figure out how to move forward with her life with the knowledge that she killed someone. The actress said views will see the character trying to move on and also start a new romance - if ever. The things that happened in 9-1-1 season 2 episode 13 will surely affect her, even in smaller ways.
