The unfortunate and sensationalized scandal that connected a large part of the K-pop community has been breaking the hearts of their fans and followers. Because of their reputation and fame, they were idolized and followed by almost all the generation, worldwide, all for the love of music and entertainment. Sadly, these fans now felt betrayed and left-hanging as they find the solace of answers straight from their once-favorite celebrity.
On April 5, 2019, Mystic Entertainment has finally broken their silence and revealed that their artist, singer Eddy Kim was indeed a member of the group chatroom wherein Jung Joon Young was illegally sharing filmed footage of sexual activity. It was the same group led by Seungri, wherein Jung Joon Young who was already arrested, Roy Kim, Kangin, Lee Jong Hyun, Yong Junhyung, Jeong Jinwoon, Choi Jong Hoon, and Eddy Kim-as well as model Lee Chul Woo. At this moment, the Mystic Entertainment which has been handling the career of Eddy Kim has been reaching out to the said personality for his own statement.
Since the start of the eruption of scandal, where the main incident that triggered it all occurred at the infamous Burning Sun club where Seungri serves as the publicity director. But apparently, apart from all the usual services of the club, there were reported incidences of drug distribution, prostitution, sexual assault, police cover-ups and illegalities that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency are currently doing an investigation. As per the updated investigation, Roy Kim had been booked on charges of spreading the illegally filmed footage, while Jeong Jinwoon, Kangin, Lee Jong Hyun, Yong Junhyung, and Lee Chul Woo were still considered witnesses and not suspects. Lee Jong Hyun and Yong Junhyung were already questioned due to their participation as witnesses, however, they do not currently have plans to similarly call in Jeong Jinwoon, Kangin, or Lee Chul Woo for questioning in the near future.
For this reason, fans of Eddy Kim wanted him to explain further what had happened and probably, was hoping that the singer might be innocent despite his membership in the chatroom. However, on the same day of Mystic Entertainment's announcement, The Manual singer turned his Instagram account in private mode, disabling his followers to communicate with him. Fans and followers felt disappointed at his sudden turning-back to them, as they deserve an apology or an explanation concerning his stand about the issue.
Given the sensitivity of the matter on hand and the widespread accusations that affected almost all of the celebrities, fans are now angry that they were misled by their idols. One fan said that allegedly, Eddy Kim has always known his friend, Jung Joon Young to be doing these things but apparently, he did not care to stop him. Although the only mistake Eddy Kim had was to be in a group with Jung Joon Young, fans were all the more angered by his almost unaffected attitude by not explaining his side and not avoiding his friends who have been doing wrong things ever since.
