Manny Pacquiao is expected to name his next opponent soon, reportedly a choice between either Keith Thurman or Danny Garcia. Of the two, the former seems to be in the lead although that remains to be seen.

After his scheduled July fight, however, it remains to be seen what the eight-time division champion has in mind. Will he continue to box or divert his focus on something else? If the recent report of Forbes is any indication, Pacquiao could end up taking a script out of Floyd Mayweather's page.

Pacquiao agreed to appear at Rizin 15 on Apr. 21 although the Manila Bulletin reports that the Filipino boxer-senator will only be at ringside to watch a Filipino fighter face Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.

For those who may recall, Nasukawa is the same opponent that Mayweather gave a sound beating in the first round last New Year's Eve. Could Pacquiao be thinking the same?

At 40-years-old, there is growing speculation that Pacquiao may be trying out a cross-fight next. Should that happen, Pacquiao could earn big bucks similar to the big payday Mayweather had. The American boxer reportedly took home $9 million in that originally scheduled three-round fight with Nasukawa.

It should be noted that Rizin president Nobuyuki Sakakibara never mentioned anything about a fight on his Twitter post. But things could suddenly change at Rizin 16, an event that is set to go down in two weeks time.

Should that be in the books, Pacquiao's next fight (either against Thurman or Garcia) could prove to be one of the final boxing matches of his career if not the last one. He could announce his retirement and leave the door slightly open to take the ring again only if a lucrative offer comes his way.

After facing either Thurman or Garcia, the only other boxing match Pacquiao obviously wants is a rematch against Mayweather. But as stated by Floyd Jr. and his camp, a rematch is farthest from their minds and unlikely to happen.

In fact, the American boxer recently cleared the air after his father, Floyd Sr., mentioned a potential ring comeback in a previous post. He said that unless it comes directly from him, there is no truth to talk about him returning to the ring.

As things are right now, Pacquiao could end up facing the same foe that Mayweather had in Nasukawa. The undefeated boxer needed only 2 minutes and 20 seconds to dispose of the Japanese, knocking him down three times before Nasukawa's corner threw in the towel. Could Pacquiao be looking for an actual knockout instead?
