Ahead of Season 3's ending, AMC announced Into the Badlands Season 4 will never happen as the show is now canceled. The current season will be the martial arts drama's final outing. As the show only has four episodes to offer, the network assured it would have a proper ending.
The show has been on a nine-month season break. When it returned in March, AMC announced that it would be the show's final season. Hence, there would be no Into the Badlands Season 4, per Hypable.
Into the Badlands Season 3B's official synopsis proves the show will come to an end and there will be no Into the Badlands Season 4. The final episodes are said to reveal "long-buried" secrets, new alliances, and will conclude with an epic fight that will end all the major battles.
Fans are hoping that the show's ending will tie all the loose ends. They are all looking forward that the conclusion will never raise a lot of questions that can only be answered on Into the Badlands Season 4.
Season 3 has 16 episodes. Thus, it is the longest among the seasons. Season 2 only had 10 episodes, while Season 1 had six. AMC has yet to give its reason behind Into the Badlands Season 4 cancelation, but Daniel Wu and Nick Frost already aired their sentiments on Instagram about it, per Express.co.uk.
"Good news always comes with bad news. First the good: #IntoTheBadlands returns. The final episodes premiere on @AMC_TV on March 24," Daniel Wu, who plays the lead role as Sunny, said on Instagram. "The bad: After these 8 episodes air that will be the end of the show."
Wu continued to say the news about Into the Badlands Season 4 cancellation is worse than the good news, especially for fans. He then expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported the show with "so much passion" over the past three seasons.
He then said they always had their fans in mind when making Into the Badlands as they only wanted to give them the "best martial arts action" show that ever appeared on TV. With all the success they attained, Wu admitted that it would never be possible without fans' help.
Nick Frost, who portrays another lead role Bajie, also made a post on Instagram about Into the Badlands Season 4 cancellation. "No more #intothebadlands and I'm really sad about it," he said.
He also added they all did "great things," and he would never forget the hard work the cast and crew made to create the show. Frost proudly said that he was pleased to be a part of the show, and he would always have his "nunchuck tattoo" that would remind him of the pain he had been through riding the pig.
Into the Badlands Season 3 final episode will be out on May 6. Unfortunately, there will be no Into the Badlands Season 4 after that.
