Many fans are now excited about the upcoming Better Call Saul Season 5. As a matter of fact, avid followers of the show have been creating theories and predictions on what are likely to happen in the imminent fifth installment due to the lack of details about it. However, recent reports suggest that the waiting game is far from over.

For starters, Better Call Saul is an American television drama series that serves as a spin-off prequel of another famous show titled Breaking Bad. Created by Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan, the spinoff centers on the story of small-time attorney Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) before the events of the mother series transpired. In the up-and-coming Better Call Saul Season 5, viewers will witness the life of Jimmy McGill as he, officially, changed his identity as Saul Goodman, a criminal-for-hire who would lawyer Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks).

Since Saul will be working the former beat cop, he will be allowed to enter the underworld of drug trafficking in Albuquerque, New Mexico. If that is the case, then, fans should expect to see Bob Odenkirk's character in several action-packed scenes in the forthcoming Better Call Saul Season 5. Other spoilers, however, suggest that Saul's new life would affect his romantic relationship with Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn). It can be recalled that things did not go well between the pair in the Season 4 finale.

Though the anticipation for the Better Call Saul Season 5 remains high, recent reports suggest that viewers would have to wait a little longer because the next installment is not arriving anytime soon. In fact, AMC President Sarah Barnett revealed that the show is very unlikely to return this year.

"It's driven by talent needs, which we would not override if it would result in a worse show," Sarah told Vulture when asked about the Better Call Saul Season 5 delay. "The writers, they have a very particular, very clear sense of the arc of their show...We're certainly getting closer to it," she added.

Other reports claimed that the delay of Better Call Saul Season 5 might also be connected to the imminent Breaking Bad film. No other details about the upcoming movie have been announced up to this writing. However, Brian Cranston, previously, confirmed that Gilligan has been working on it since last year.

Beside Bob, Rhea, and Jonathan, other cast expected to return in the new season include Patrick Fabian, Giancarlo Esposito, and Tony Dalton. The upcoming fifth installment is set to premiere in 2020.
