"Do you want to die, Max?" This is the question that lingers after watching the new trailer of New Amsterdam Episode 18. And while it brings worry and trouble to the fans of the show, this might be a good indication that Max would now take his condition seriously.
In the previous episode, Sanctuary, the fans, and viewers of the show have witnessed how the characters arose from their respective chaotic situations. Aside from the aftermath of the storm that hit the city, the challenges inside the hospital have become worse that allowed each character to stand out in their ways.
Ultimately, the whole New Amsterdam fandom gave their praises toward the seventeenth episode of the show. But while the storm and its aftermath are already taken care of, the hurdles of the characters inside the hospital is not yet done. The next episode shows that Max and his medical condition are partially the major focus of the installment.
As anyone would recall, Helen had a conversation with Max in the last episode. While Max is expecting to hear something great, Helen shared her disappointment and decided to pass his treatments to a new doctor that would handle his case. She went on to explain that she can no longer be a friend and a doctor to Max all at once. And in considering Max' stubbornness, this is just suitable.
The new trailer of New Amsterdam Episode 18 shows Max and his new doctor. And it seems that this doctor is much stricter than Helen. So, there is a huge chance that Max would now listen to her and this time, focus on his health first before anyone else.
But aside from Helen and Max (and his apparent deteriorating health), the upcoming episode of New Amsterdam also shows that they will pay more attention to the patients of the hospital. And based on the new clips shared about the next installment, the doctors will face a moral and ethical challenge when a mother gave birth to a child.
However, the mother was not able to regain her consciousness. And little did everyone know that the child was bought beforehand and that there is an actual contract. Although there is no further information about this plot, things will further unveil once New Amsterdam Episode 18 airs on April 16, on NBC.
It is also worth noting that the series just got back from its long hiatus. So, fans and viewers can expect that the succeeding episodes will air continuously per week.
