NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 20 has just recently aired, and fans finally learned who is Wendy in Elvis Bertrand's life. The woman is his daughter, or at least, that's what he claims. It was revealed in the episode that he was a "sperm donor" many years ago and he ended up tracking his "daughter" and now tries to be part of her life.
NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 20 revealed Wendy is a hacker and she discovered an algorithm where she can predict the lottery results. In turn, she figured out there were some things in the world that were random, and she wanted to use her knowledge to help other people in using it.
However, some of her actions ended up to a murder, and because of that, the team could not find her. This is where Elvis entered the picture, and he's "trying to help." But then, the question is if he's good at what he does.
Most of NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 20 focused on a "series of Elvis-related hijinks" while the investigation is being carried on. He was trying to stand up for his "daughter" even though it's clear Wendy didn't want him around her life.
There's also this point where she was held at gunpoint, so he busted in to save her - though he also serves as a distraction. Also, he even let himself to be captured so that Wendy wouldn't be. Viewers who have watched NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 20 think this is the most caring side of Elvis they have ever seen.
He was trying to be a good father although it's clear his daughter didn't want him near her. Perhaps, one of the best things he did for Wendy in this episode is when he destroyed the algorithm on her laptop, so there would be no evidence of any of the actions.
What Elvis did there saved Wendy from spending her time in jail even though she was annoyed because he goes through her work without asking permission first.
Meanwhile, all of these things happened in NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 20 while Pride was trying to hop for a flight so he could have some family time of his own. That's also the reason why he's so desperate to just get over with the case, though he has no intention to skip on any of the details.
