When one cares about another the way Alex Rodriguez does for Jennifer Lopez, one is willing to spend six months of one's life---plus another 3 days thrown in to get the sunset right---just planning for the precise moment one will pop the big question.
In an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday, Rodriguez dished out on his Jennifer Lopez marriage proposal and how he prepared 6 months and 3 days for the perfect moment.
In his interview with the show's host, Fallon, Rodriguez revealed he had been planning to pop the big question to his sweetheart of two years. He wanted it to happen in the Bahamas, on the beach.
He said he had been planning the occasion for "six months." When the couple were there, he waited another three days just to pin down the right time the sun would set.
He shared that he was "nervous" but "excited" and felt he had to "rehearse" the three days because he had to make sure the "sunset" was "perfect."
He told the host that, even though he was not able to pin down the exact setting time of the sun on the auspicious day, his marriage proposal had been successful. At that cue, the show's host displayed the photograph of the picture perfect moment.
Fallon made reference to the World Series ring that the former professional baseball player wore as he went down on his knees to propose to J. Lo.
A-Rod, as Rodriguez is more familiarly known, pointed out that he has only worn the ring a few times, but that he thought it was a "big moment." The Chief Executive Officer of the A-Rod Corporation had the occasion thought out right down to that detail.
Rodriguez and Lopez had earlier announced their engagement March 9. A month into their engagement, the two lovebirds were seen out in New York City, sharing a kiss before Lopez went into a car, ostensibly to head back to the set of Hustlers, which she is presently filming. The couple have been dating since way back 2017.
In a previous interview, Lopez had explained how their relationship seemed to work smoothly, and she put it down to the fact that they did "everything" together. She also went further saying they knew each other's "dreams" and that's how they feel that they are "stronger."
The Maid in Manhattan star expanded saying that the two "constantly" gave each other support in what they each was doing and that both thought of "all the things" that they could as a couple "build together."
And she underlined that they were "really happy."
Rodriguez has also said that as they are both "very grateful," they are also at the same time deeply appreciative of where they are in their love at present, indicating that they were both "enjoying the most."
