Ever since Game of Thrones Season 8 premiered on HBO last Monday, the internet has been filled with a lot of memes and puns about Cersei's obsession with elephants. For one, she literally mentioned these elephants several times during the first episode. And to further complement the emphasis, Cersei appears to be very disappointed that the Golden Company arrived in Westeros without the elephants.
Apparently, these elephants were first mentioned in the later episodes of Game of Thrones Season 7 after her brother-lover, Jamie, led the Lannister army to Highgarden. The resources and spoils that they obtained from the House of Tyrell were utilized by Cersei to buy the most powerful army in Essos, the Golden Company. She even boasted this to Jamie and believed that aside from the 20,000 men and horses, her purchase would come with elephants.
The apparent mentioning of the elephants is not entirely highlighted until the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 arrived. And many fans have taken the scene as mere entertainment. Others, however, sought that this is an important detail to the plot which is why Cersei is putting too much weight about the absence of the elephants.
As any Game of Thrones fan would recall, elephants were used by the wildlings when Mance Rayder led the attack to the wall. This battle has actually shown the viewers the real strength and importance of the elephants to any war. And it only makes sense as to why Cersei is very much looking forward to having her own elephants.
On another note, many fans are also asking about Cersei's pregnancy. Before Game of Thrones Season 7 concluded two years ago, it has been revealed that the queen is with Jamie's child. In fact, Tyrion was able to discover this on the season finale as Cersei refused to drink wine which apparently is a strange thing to happen.
But when Game of Thrones Season 8 premiered, fans have witnessed that Cersei is now back to her drinking game. And any mentioning of her pregnancy on the latest installment is non-existent. Accordingly, fans are now concluding only two things. It's either that she is not pregnant at all and she just used it to trick Jamie and Tyrion or she is truly pregnant and she's just hiding it from Euron because she has plans already.
But whatever the case, fans will have to wait for Game of Thrones Season 8 to return on April 21 to confirm these conclusions.
