According to MacGryver season 3 episode 21 titled "Treason + Heartbreak + Gum," Ethan asks Matty for help when his wife and daughter has been kidnapped by a criminal organization S-company. This will force Matty to choose whether she's willing to commit treason to help her ex-husband and his family.
Matty is doing everything to help Ethan this season, though she was heartbroken because he ended up getting re-married and had a daughter during the time he's undercover with S-Company. But then, she set aside the pain and sadness she felt from her work, and that's important as Ethan needed her through some missions in this season.
Viewers have seen Matty doing her best to help Ethan relocate him, as well as his family. But then, in MacGryver season 3 episode 21, that seems like to have been no avail, especially because S-company is coming for them in a big way. Still, the good thing about this season is that the series created strong storylines, particularly to these characters.
Meanwhile, aside from Matty and Ethan, there are also other characters experiencing pain in MacGryver season 3 episode 21. The synopsis notes Riley will join Billy Colton and Mama Colton on a mission to Paris, and from there, they make a heartbreaking discovery. What would that be?
And since this is the penultimate of the series, viewers can expect a lot of happenings ahead of the finale. Perhaps, one of the things to anticipate is the appearance of the former Robocop star Peter Weller, and he will be appearing as Mason. According to TVLine, Weller's character is the new, big-time villain and he is a serious threat to MacGyver.
What makes him dangerous is the fact he's got a lot in common with the character - or probably a lot more like Mac than he would ever admit. But of course, the major difference is that Mason uses his power for evil rather than for good. Fans will possibly see more of this new character in the future seasons, though MacGryver season 4 is still up in the air.
