The Litchfield girls will all be back for their final outing in Orange is the New Black Season 7. Netflix has officially announced when fans would expect the show's release, while fan-made theories are now on the loose on what could happen with the much-loved inmates' lives.
According to Radio Times, Orange is the New Black Season 7 will follow Piper's (Taylor Schilling) life now that she is out of prison. The former inmate will be navigating the outside world now that she has the taste of freedom after receiving an earlier release, as the show tackled racial imbalance in America.
But unlike Piper, less fortunate inmates have to remain behind bars in Orange is the New Black Season 7. The previous season finale showed how Blanca (Laura Gómez) was carted off to an immigration detention center, while Taystee (Danielle Brooks) had to pay for a murder she didn't do.
It is not yet officially revealed who would return to Orange is the New Black Season 7. However, there are expectations Schilling and Laura Prepon would make a comeback to reprise their roles as Piper and Alex. After the prison wedding in the previous season, the 34-year-old star told The Hollywood Reporter she is confident that their characters' love would stand the test of time.
Now that Piper will be in the outside world come Orange is the New Black Season 7, Schilling said her union with Alex would "survive their separation. "I think that's the love of her life," she added.
Other stars that are expected to return to Orange is the New Black Season 7 are Uzo Aduba as Crazy Eyes, Brooks as Taystee, Gomez as Blanca, Adrienne C Moore as Black Cindy, Natasha Lyonne as Nicky, Dale Soules as Frieda, Kate Mulgrew as Red, and Dascha Polanco as Daya. Season 6's new faces like Amanda Fuller as Madison and Vicci Martinez as Daddy might also likely return.
Talking about Orange is the New Black Season 7's release, Netflix has confirmed the tentative premiere date of the show's new and final season in its first-quarter shareholder letter, per Pop Culture. Here, it said the series final installment would be out in the second half of the year. So, it could be anytime in or after July.
"We're looking forward to a strong slate of global content in the second half of the year," Netflix said in a letter. "Including new seasons of some of our biggest series, Stranger Things (July 4th), 13 Reasons Why, Orange is the New Black, The Crown and La Casa de Papel (aka Money Heist),"
The show first debuted in July 2013, while Season 2 to 5 premiered in June. Season 6's release was back in July, so Orange is the New Black Season 7 might also premiere in the same month this year.
