The reboot of the fantasy drama series, Charmed, has been a great success ever since it premiered on CW last year. But while the network is taking the show as one of their materials that provide "strong foundation," Charmed Season 1 as a reboot did not receive full praises and warm welcomes from everyone.

Some of the original cast of the show that premiered in 1998 has serious complaints about the reboot as per Digital Spy. For one, Alyssa Milano who originally played the role of Phoebe shared that she wished that the original cast and production were consulted beforehand.

While Alyssa Milano shared her primary thoughts about the reboot, Holly Marie Combs, on the other hand, blatantly explained her complaints through a series of tweets. The Charmed star who played the role of Piper even mentioned of "capitalizing" their hard work. But her complaints pointed out to the same thoughts as what Alyssa had. It "belongs to us," Holly further explained.

So, it seems that the reboot did not do a consultation with the original cast and production of the show. And this had caused various complaints when it aired last year. But as for the other cast members of the original series, they seem to receive the reboot as great material. Some of them would love to make an appearance in Charmed Season 2 if in case they are needed on the show.

This commotion that fired last year due to the complaints of the original cast members did not affect the reboot. The truth is - this has paved the way for the reboot to gain publicity. And fortunately for the fandom, Charmed Season 2 is now already sealed.

As it happens, CW renewed the show for another season along with their other shows like Riverdale and The Flash. For the network, this is "just the beginning," Mark Pedowitz, President of CW, shared in an interview.

As of the moment, the renewal announcement is the only thing that has been around the media. But as for the Charmed Season 2 cast, plot, and other details, there are no further updates yet. Besides, the pilot season is still ongoing.

It is worth noting that Charmed Season 1 is extended up to 22 episodes. And currently, it is on its way to its eighteenth episode, The Replacement, which is set to air on April 21, on CW. So, it is very likely that the details of Charmed Season 2 will be shared publicly once the current installment wraps up in May.
