Danny Garcia is one of the candidates to be Manny Pacquiao next fight opponent and the 31-year-old believes he has proven his point. He disposed of Adrian Granados in the seventh round last weekend via TKO at the Dignity Health Sports Park. The American boxer won the WBC Silver welterweight title and wasted no time taking a jab at the eight-time division champion.
"I hope I didn’t scare Manny Pacquiao away,” Garcia said in the ring after the win. “I’d love a rematch with Shawn Porter or Keith Thurman, or a fight with Errol Spence Jr. I'm back."
Seeing how he pulled off a good win, it also seems natural for Garcia to have high adrenaline and take a swipe at Pacquiao. However, there are some who question his ability to get into the ring with the Filipino boxing icon.
Garcia did face some familiar names that Pacquiao has faced and beaten them as well. The list includes Brandon Rios, Lucas Matthysse and Erik Morales. Some have taken aim at his two losses - one against Keith Thurman and the other against Shawn Porter. The former is the other name on the Pacquiao wish list and some believe he would be a better opponent.
Regardless, Porter could be a possible next opponent for Garcia. He was at ringside when Garcia won over Granados and there is the word that the 31-year-old pug may face Errol Spence Jr. for a unification bout in September, Boxingscene.com said.

Incidentally, Spence is another name that has been mentioned as a possible opponent for Pacquiao. However, the 29-year-old boxer was not among the list of names that the boxer-senator had revealed.
Looking ahead, it will be interesting if Garcia's performance was enough to convince Pacquiao to consider him. Philly.com said that Pacquiao would consider the American boxer if he put on a strong showing against Granados. In the eyes of some, the TKO win was a big statement victory for Garcia who bounced back from a previous loss to Porter in September 2018.
In a report from Manila Bulletin Sports, Pacquiao will be revealing his next opponent soon. Sean Gibbons will be discussing the matter with Al Haymon of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) to decide who the PacMan faces next.
“Will get a few things done this week,” said Gibbons, who accompanied Pacquiao in Japan the past five days where they attended a major MMA event at the Yokohama Arena.
