WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Code Episode 3
The Code episode 3 recently aired on CBS and it featured the story of "Molly Marine." The series is a little bit different compared to the network's other military shows, particularly how characters take on different cases. For instance, this episode features an issue wherein they need to find out who's responsible for leaking information about a female Marine getting a promotion.
The Code episode 3 aired on Monday, April 22, and it shows Major Ferry and Lt. Li had been assigned to find the person who leaked information regarding a Marine who will become the Corps' first female Infantry Captain - which led to her attack. This is the reason why some viewers like watching the show as the cases they take aren't all about murders.
That's what makes The Code different because the crimes sometimes involved men and women in uniform, while also making sure justice will prevail. In The Code episode 3, the story of "Molly Marine" is somehow based on reality since there are some people out there who tend to leak sensitive information about someone in the real world these days.
While it's important to find the right way to prosecute the leakers, it's not that easy doing that sometimes. In the case of The Code episode 3, what happened was indeed bad, as there are some people trying to stop a female Marine from getting a promotion, which she deserves. On the other note, the widow of Capt. Abraham's best friend approached him, and she considers suing the Corps due to the wrongful death of her husband, and she's asking him to testify.
Meanwhile, what's yet to come in the series is essential because it would also determine its future - like being renewed or canceled. CarterMatt noted it's hard to survive for a show, especially if there are other shows out there with the same plot and storylines. Thus, The Code needs to find its way to survive and compete with other programs that have already established a fan base and gathered many viewers.
The show has a potential and would be popular among viewers, but it is reportedly missing more direct ties to the NCIS world. That show has already proved its popularity and well-established in the CBS, so when the two worlds were brought together, viewers might expect more good things to come.
Still, it's too early to predict the future of The Code since it is just in its first season, so it might have more stories to tell.
