Netflix previously announced the renewal of Aggretsuko for the second season, but there are no further details about it including its release date since then. The streaming giant made the announcement during its Anime Expo 2018 panel, wherein an Aggrestuko mascot went out on the stage and debuted the teaser trailer. So, for now, here's everything you need to know about Aggetsuko season 2.

Sanrio, the Japanese company, known for Hello Kitty, made the character Aggresuko. It first appeared in a series of animated shorts by Fanworks and aired on TBS Television in April 2016 until March 2018. And then, the original net animation series had been launched globally on Netflix back in April 2018.

Written and directed by Rarecho, many viewers around the world enjoyed the first season of Aggretsuko which consists of 10 15-minute episodes. The animated series follows the story of the 25-year-old Retsuko, the anthropomorphic red panda, who is single and working in the accounting department in a Japanese trading firm. The character faces constant difficulties regularly because of her pushy superiors, as well as her annoying co-workers.

To release her frustrations, Restuko goes to a karaoke bar every night where she usually sings death metal - which is her coping mechanism. After working for five years, the unhappiness that the character felt has led her to go on a series of events which puts her job in jeopardy. She was forced to shift her relationship among her co-workers, and it changed her life unexpectedly.

The ending of Aggretsuko season 1 left viewers wondering on what will happen next, that's why it's interesting to see how Retsuko's story will further go. So far, Netflix has not yet announced the official release date of Aggretsuko season 2, though the teaser noted it's coming this 2019. But, Otakukart speculated it would likely arrive in May or June. Rarecho will reportedly return as writer and director of the second season.

Meanwhile, report says Aggrestuko was one of the best anime last year, as the animated series clearly shows it's not just about jokes and skits. The series covered relevant issues nowadays, particularly modern workplace frustrations, along with the lessons regarding relationships.

What's happening in this comedic series is relatable in the real world. Perhaps, the greatest lesson it offers is helping people cope in situations where they feel powerless about everything and feel wrong in life.
