Now that the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are done deals, it's time to shift our attention to yet another upcoming Google flagship. The Pixel 4 line will be the Search Engine's next-gen Smartphones that are poised to sing Google's anthem in their effort to give users pure Android experience.
While both the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are still around four months away, Phone Arena posted an article that revolves around Jon Prosser's YouTube channel, Front Page Tech. Both shared some juicy insights on what the Pixel 4 should look like, including a bomb that a "massive change" could very well be underway.
Prosser said in his video that Google might just "ditch all physical buttons" and will go with an all-aluminum frame. If the YouTuber's sources prove to be near accurate, we'd have to say goodbye to the physical power button and volume rocker that are even found on most high-end devices to date. Instead, Google will introduce a substitute to these physical clickers and that it will most likely be in the form of capacitive touch alternatives.
Phone Arena said that the doing away of the physical buttons are in line with Google's Active Edge frame. This limits "certain sections of the aluminum frame" and by replacing the buttons, Google can extend their capacitive insight to occupy the right pane of the Pixel 4.
Moreover, Prosser pointed to a possible camera cutout in front of the Pixel 4 that will house the front-facing camera. This will go alongside the previously rumored "uniform bezels and an extremely thin chin," but word has it that Google will retain the front-facing stereo speakers akin to the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 family.
Another common thought is for Google using an in-display fingerprint scanner. By this, the new Pixels will ditch the traditional scanner found at the back of its current brethren. However, the website said that it is still unclear on whether Google will go for an optical scanner or an ultrasonic sensor like what Samsung gave the Galaxy S10.
In addition, the new Pixels should sport a dual-rear camera setup that will be lined horizontally along the top left corner of the handset. There's also a rumor that the Pixel 4 series will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 CPU that could make it a potential frontrunner. Also on the inside are 128GB of onboard storage and a Google-first 6GB RAM.
Of course, the new Pixel line should come with the latest flavor of the Android Operating System, IP68 certification, a larger battery to work with faster charging and LTE support. 5G is somewhat hazy at this point, but Google has been reported to be working on the next-generation mobile connection. The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will most likely see the second week of October as its announce week, said Phone Arena.
