Apple recently announced its new Backlight Service Program to address the issue that several users of MacBook Pro 2016 model have been complaining about. The latest service program initiated by the Cupertino-based tech giant will try to solve a very small percentage of MacBook Pro that encountered display issues. Meanwhile, Apple also launched earlier new MacBook Pro models with improved specs.

New Service Program

The Apple Backlight Service Program was launched to address what several 2016 MacBook Pro owners referred to as the flexgate problem. This includes continuous or intermittent vertical bright spots at the bottom of the display and total loss of backlight. Some techs initially ruled out that the thin flex cables are responsible for the display issue.

The models covered by this program are only those purchased between October 2016 and February 2018. These are the 2016 MacBook Pro 13-inches, 4 Thunderbolt, and 3 ports model and 2016 MacBook Pro 13-inches, 2 Thunderbolt, and 3 ports model. Owners can visit authorized service providers or at any Apple stores and avail of the latest service for free.

Owners who could not visit any Apple Store or its authorized service provider can mail their device to the company's repair center. The Cupertino-based tech titan advises customers that if they choose this option, they have to get in touch with Apple support for the arrangement of the mail-in service. Customers who had previously have their models repaired can call Apple to get their refund.

New MacBook Models

Apple, unexpectedly announced today the launch of its latest 13 -inches and 15-inches MacBook Pro models. These models are the top of the line and the fastest Mac notebooks. The latest models sport 8th and 9th generation Intel processors with top of the line models featuring eight cores.

According to the Cupertino-based tech titan, the latest MacBook Pro models offer two times faster and better performance compared to a quadcore MacBook Pro and 40 percent more better than six-core MacBook Pro. The latest 13-inches models utilize enhanced and updated quadcore processors. The 15-inches models, on the other hand, are available in six-core and 8-core options.

In addition to the latest processors, the updated MacBook Pro models have the same design despite speculations that the company would release 16-inches and 16.5 -inches MacBook Pro models this year. The new models also have several internal updates and come with an improved keyboard.

While it was not mentioned in the company's press release, it was confirmed that the latest models utilize a new material on its keyboard. This is the same material that according to Apple will solve the issue on the failure problems that users have experienced.
