Queen Elizabeth II reportedly reacted on Princess Diana's hands-on parenting as she couldn't understand her ways in raising her children. Her Majesty reportedly didn't agree with the late Princess take on motherhood.

Reports noted that royal children usually grow up at the care of their nannies or staff, but Princess Diana reportedly joined the Firm and broke the royal rules by being a hands-on mother. Queen Elizabeth, however, didn't agree with this.

In his 2011 book William and Catherine: Their Story, author Andrew Morton revealed that Prince Charles felt relieved with Prince Diana's hands-on mothering. He added that when Prince William's nanny wasn't around during their stay at Balmoral, the Princess of Wales reportedly took over the mothering herself.

But then, this allegedly caused Queen Elizabeth to exclaim and the monarch reportedly said she don't understand why Princess Diana has to do that since they have "millions of housemaids" in the royal palace.

Prince Charles, on the other hand, reportedly "frowned upon" his late wife's insistence on raising their sons in a normal way. He reportedly believed it wasn't really necessary, but Princess Diana did her best just to give Prince William and Prince Harry a normal life.

She reportedly took them on beaches, amusement parks, let them ride buses and taxis, and they go on trips to homeless shelters so that she could show her sons the other ways of life and how it works for normal people. In addition, Princess Diana reportedly canceled their lunch at the palace and took the boys to McDonald's.

According to former royal chef Darren McGrady, he was surprised when the late Princess did that and he insisted to cook burgers. But then, the Princess of Wales reportedly declined his offer and said that her kids wanted to have toys. Princess Diana was just like other regular people, and she even dropped off her sons at school.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth wasn't reportedly a "warm" and "cozy" mother to Prince Charles. The monarch wasn't a hands-on mother because she's reportedly busy doing her royal duties. When the Prince of Wales was growing up, Her Majesty was always away, so his son was usually under the care of palace staffers or his nannies.

Prince Charles also admitted that he is much closer to his grandmother Queen Mother than his own mother. He revealed that he felt really sad when his grandmother passed away and said he would miss her laughs.
