Seth Rogen shares some of the inspirational life lessons he picked up from his great friend, Kanye West.
The actor and producer revealed in a recent interview just how much change the rapper has impacted Rogen's outlook in life.
Rogen opens up about how West has taught him to always think out of the box and push his limits. He shares how this piece of wisdom has contributed to the little success he has had over the past few years in the industry.
The topic apparently came up when being asked about his bravery to venture out and take on some new projects. One of those is the film Long Shot, which will be released sometime soon.
In one of the friends' conversations, Rogen reveals that West had an interest to make a theater with eight different screens: some up on the ceiling, others on the sides of the theater, and the rest at the front of the audience like that in traditional theaters. Rogen then told West in a joking manner that he had won Grammys for his music and that now he was just going to go design some theaters.
At Rogen's remark, West just laughed at his friend. He revealed his philosophy of how people should go beyond where their comfort zones are set. It was important to explore and learn new things in order to eventually succeed and earn from those new experiences.
Rogen also confesses that West's knack for sharing his new and sometimes unconventional ideas with him---to later work on materializing those ideas and market them into something profitable---is a feat he internalizes now and again, hoping to learn more from his great pal.
Rogen then went on to say that, when West got into making and designing shoes, people scoffed at his project and told him to just stick to making music. As he looks back at that time in West's career, he ponders about the unsolicited opinions of people trying to bring his pal down.
But regardless of the scoffers, West refused to be confined to 'stay in his own lane' and continued to pursue and start a variety of projects in different industries. To date, West has managed to make Adidas earn billions from his Yeezy kicks.
Rogen then says he is slowly and humbly striving in Hollywood by taking West's advice and always being open and willing to embrace new avenues his career will bring him to.
